CLEAR WATERS
AND NIGHT SKIES

Kozushima has long been known for its crystal-clear waters and brilliant night skies—a reputation further cemented in December 2020 when it became the first location in Tokyo (and only the second of four in Japan) to be designated an International Dark Sky Park (Island) by the International Dark-Sky Association.

In addition to offering unobstructed views of the Milky Way, Kozushima’s pristine waters are home to some of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the Izu Islands, making it a favorite among ocean lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Just a short plane or ferry ride from central Tokyo, the island’s natural beauty shines under the sun by day and glows under starlit skies at night.
